Saxons! Please be reminded that the elevator is not for everyday use. Students are not allowed to use the elevator unless approved by the office.

SADD Club- Parking Spots
Attention Saxons: There are still plenty of parking spots available! For only $20 you can reserve your own personal spot. See Mrs. Newberry in Room B123 to get your spot. If you have forgotten your spot number, check with Mrs. Newberry.
The SADD club and Math team are hosting a parking spot painting contest. Have your spot painted by September 30 to enter! Judging will happen on Wednesday October 1 at 3:15 pm. Categories include Most Creative Design, Best Saxon Spirit, Funniest Design and Judges' Favorite. The owners of the 4 top spots will win $20 gift cards to Amazon.
Please do not park in any spot that has been painted unless you have paid for it. If you purchased a spot but did not paint it, we can not stop other people from parking in your spot!
School Pictures

Picture day was August 18th. Those photos are now available to view and purchase through Geskus Photography https://gpi.portraitpics.co/login. You can view your student’s photo using the webcode or QR code on the card they were given on picture day. If they do not have the card you can call Geskus at 1-800-473-3885 to get their personal webcode for viewing their photo. Picture retake day will be Friday, October 3.

STUDENT SERVICES
Schedule Changes
1st semester schedule change adjustments have been completed. No further requests will be evaluated.
If you have a concern about a schedule adjustment for 2nd semester, those will be addressed closer to November. Please be reminded that a Schedule Changes for 2nd semester will ONLY be considered for the following reasons:
· Student is missing a core academic course
· Student has an empty class period schedule
· Student has two classes scheduled during the same period
· Student is not in the correct placement level (Honors, AP)
· Student has already completed specific course or equivalency
· Teacher has recommended a course change due to inaccurate level placement (9/8)
Senior SAT Retake Dates
Seniors interested in retaking their SAT, please note that fall national SAT Testing Date sign ups deadlines are quickly approaching. HHS does not host any fall SAT tests. Students who wish to retake the assessment need to log into their College Board account, choose a date and testing location. The October 4, 2025 test sign up deadline is only about 2 weeks away (9/19/25). Anyone not able to afford the $68 testing fee should inquire with Ms. Peg or Ms. Tolles to see if they qualify for a fee waiver. (9/10)
Gilmore Garage Works
Are you interested in working with your hands and/or automotive restoration? Gilmore Garage Works may be the program for you! Gilmore Car Museum is holding their annual Garage Works Program Open House on Tuesday, September 23, from 5:00-7:00 pm at Gilmore Car Museum. Students interested in learning more about Northern Michigan University can sign-up to join an information meeting on Wednesday September 17th. Please sign-up for Naviance if you would like to attend. (9/15)
Lawrence Technological University will be here at HHS on Friday September 19th. Students interested in attending this meeting must sign-up through Naviance. (9/17)
A representative from Michigan Technological University will be here on Monday September 22 to meet with interested students. Sign up in Naviance if you would like to attend, and remember that grades, attendance, and behavior are criteria which will be looked at. (9/19)

Athletics

-Sub sale fundraiser is underway. Forms and money to be turned in September 15 and pick up will be October 2.
-If you have not set up a Final Forms account please do so. Information on how to set up an account can be found on the Athletics page of the school website.
-GIRLS GOLF: Attention all HHS ladies interested in nature walks, fun conversation, & sun. Good news, there are still openings on the Saxon Golf team this Fall. No experience needed, all are invited. No clubs? No problem. We'll figure it out. Please see Mr. Mohn is the athletic office for more information on joining the team and learning a life-long sport.
-BOYS TENNIS: The team is always looking for more players. Tennis is a great sport to work on cardio, foot work, and hand/eye coordination for fall and spring sports. Play golf? You should play tennis too! Play baseball? Tennis helps with your swing. See Mrs. Schueller if interested.
-Attention Boys Basketball athletes:
An 8 week Pre-season Performance Program will begin on Monday, September 15 at 3:30 pm in the HS weight room
-Open to all students planning to try out for basketball this year and are not currently participating in a Fall sport
-Sessions will run 3-4 days per week, each lasting 45 minutes-1 hour
-Program runs until 2 weeks before basketball season begins
-No cost to participate
This is your chance to become the strongest version of yourself before the season starts.

RESULTS from coaches
Girls Swim & Dive
Congratulations to the members of the Delton Kellogg-Hastings Girls' Swim and Dive Team for their 92 to 80 win over the team from Fremont High School at the first dual meet of the season on Thursday, September 4.
Taking first places in the meet were Shiloh Crandall, Petra Foster, Annabelle Kuck, Kassidy Peake, and Lilly Randall. The other girls on the Team established new personal best times for their respective events.
The next competition for the girls will be a meet at Otsego High School on Tuesday, September 9.
Freshman Football
The Freshman Football team defended their house last night in a 44-28 victory over Plainwell.
The Saxons took an early lead and wouldn't look back.
Logan Smith and Austin Friddle both had 2 touchdowns, with Brandon Goodrich and
Micah Randall having one apiece.
Mason Baker and Carson Richardson would help add to the lead with 2 point conversations.
The offensive line was led by Ryan Ouayach, Myles Drake, and Mason Matthews.
The Saxons defense stood tall forcing multiple 4th down turn overs Key tackles were made by Landyn Carroll, Carson Gray, and Brandon Goodrich.
Jace Slaughter protected the weak side of the defense with multiple tackles and a huge sack that caused a fumble.
The Saxons move to 2-0 and look to take on Jackson northwest next Thursday.
