SENIOR REMINDERS

DUE BILLS
Attention Seniors! Do you have an old Algebra book laying around, or maybe a book from the Roe Reading Room? This is your reminder that all due bills must be paid or returned by the date of graduation. To see your active due bills, check under Fee Transactions in your PowerSchool. If you received a due bill and have questions, stop into the back office, and see Mrs. Maurer. (4/17)

 

 

 

SENIOR ACADAMY AWARDS
The Senior Academy Awards will take place on May 6th at 6:00 PM in the Hastings Performing Arts Center.

Seniors and their friends and family are invited to join us for this fun event celebrating and highlighting seniors in categories like school spirit and other memorable traits. Nominees will be announced at the Spring Sports Assembly on April 30th. (4/24)

DECISION DAY - IMPORTANT!!

SENIOR SCHOLARSHIPS

- The TCU Student Scholarship application deadline is April 15th. Click this link for more information:

- The Lakewood Choral Society Scholarship is open to a graduating senior who will be majoring in voice performance or music education at a 4-year accredited college.  The application can be accessed online at www.lacsmusic.org or from your high school choir director.  The deadline is Wednesday, April 15th, 2026.    (4/15)

The MSFAA Early Awareness and Multicultural Outreach Scholarship is accepting applications for seniors who have a 2.5 gpa or better, and who will take at least 12 credit hours at college in Fall 2026.  Click HERE for the application.  The deadline to apply is April 17.  (4/17)


- Seniors!  The Hasting Athletic Boosters Scholarship is open to student-athletes who have participated in at least one sport all four years of high school, and maintained a GPA of 3.0 or higher throughout high school.  Click

Come out for a casual evening of solos, small groups, and skits to, Thursday the 16th, at Follies! The Hastings Choirs are hosting this evening of fun events. The show begins at 7pm in the HPAC, and we'd love to see you there!

RESULTS from coaches

 

Tennis
The Saxon Netters hosted West Michigan Lutheran last night and pulled out a 6-2 victory, improving to 2-1 on the season.  In singles, Lilli Edger at the 3rd spot and Lilly Randall at 4th, won easily after playing hard fought tennis.  In doubles, the Saxons swept the Pilots.  The 1st doubles team for Sophia Haywood and Lauren Gee blanked their opponents 6-0,6-0.  Senior duo and 2nd doubles team, Ellie Cousins and Alyssa Morton won 6-2,6-3.  At the 3rd position, Kassidy Peake and Paula Muga won easily, 6-1, 6-0. At the 4th position, Josalyn Russell and Hannah Sorensen kept their unbeaten streak intact, winning 6-0,6-1.

 

 

 

Boys Golf
The Hastings Boys Golf team opened the season with a 4th place finish at the I-8 Jamboree in Marshall, shooting 320. Daniel Jensen led the Saxons with a 74, while freshman Daylen Sybesma impressed with a 75 and Danny Jiles added an 81 in a strong varsity debut.

 

Girls Track
The Girls Track and Field team took down Jackson Northwest last night with a score of 92-44. 

Taking first for the Saxons were Bella Friddle in the 100, 200, high jump and long jump; Caroline Randall in the 800, 1600, and 3200; Olivia Friddle in shot put, discus, and pole vault; Naomi Cook in the 300m hurdles, and the 4x100 relay of Riley Furrow, Naomi Cook, Malena Tomaszewska, and Olivia Friddle; and the 4x400 relay of Naomi Cook, Zikarra Warner, Cheyenne Smith, and Emerson Leary. 

Taking second in their events were Malena Tomaszewska, Riley Furrow, Emerson Leary, Petra Foster, Zikarra Warner, and Chloe Pirtle.

Taking third in their events were Riley Furrow, Kim Coolidge, Lacy Peck, Cheyenne Smith, Chloe Pirtle, and Malena Tomaszewska.

The Saxons compete again on Friday at their home invite. Come out and support!

 

 

Boys Track
The Boys Track team beat Jackson NW last night with a score of 71-66. Taking first for the Saxons were Joey Renner in the 110 hurdles; Jackson McKinney in the 3200; Odin Twiss in shot and disc; Josh Grace in high jump; Liam Renner in pole vault; 4x1 relay of Evan Jacobs, Pau Crespo, Odin Twiss, and Isaac Lilley; and the 4x2 relay of Liam Renner, Josh Grace, Balian Marlette, and Logan Kimmel. 

Other Saxon scorers were Caleb Kramer, Brandon Goodrich, Jace Acker, Austin Friddle (who broke a 40-year old freshman record in disc with a throw of 123 ft, 9 in.), Matthew Shults, Angel Mejia Hernandez, and Ethan Hetrick.
